I don’t usually think in words

that’s why 

when I notice that performed, fragmented, decisive voice in my head 

it means something is emerging

and needs to be written down

Flat is a work in progress commission by The Imperfect Orchestra for their DECADE event at The House at The University of Plymouth on 17 Feb 2024.

The film is an exploration of relationships with spaces and objects, specifically those related to the feeling of home. The monologue draws on questions and conflicts of existing as a neurodivergent person, including considerations around voice, communication, and expression, as well as simultaneous restlessness and need for stability. 

​

The work will be presented with a live score by The Imperfect Orchestra.
