How far can parts of ourselves be expressed? And the spaces and times we experience in specific periods, how do we remember and evoke the phenomenological depth of what they feel like?
A collection of wobbly videos from 2024 saved from drowning in the depths of a phone camera produces a reflection on identity as a sphere of continuous exchange with the world.
The editing process becomes a balancing act of conscious decisions with relinquishing of control. A pleasure in the mix of rhythm and uncertainty.
How long is a moment, and why does one choose to capture its particular fragment? For the purpose of this experimental film inspired by avant-garde diary works, I construct a structured restriction.
I discover a responsibility to these 3-second entities of space and time. They carry fragments of the heightened sensory states, moments of intense interaction with the world. I look after them by structuring a film through repetitive, ritual, tactile editing in embodied focus. The warm embrace of recognised significance becomes a way to reciprocate for the moments of intensity I am grateful for.
